The North End Neighborhood Council will hold an annual election for its Board of Directors on November 10, 2008. All Council members sixteen years of age and above are eligible to vote in the election. The Board consists of 15 seats, 7 of which are up for election/reelection this November. Board Members, who serve without compensation, are elected at large for a term of two (2) years. All Council members eighteen (18) years of age and older are eligible to stand for election, however a majority of the Board shall be residents of the neighborhood and must not serve on more than one Neighborhood Council Board at a time. Elected or appointed City officials, even if residents of the Council, are not eligible to sit on the Board. Board Members are required to attend and participate in all regularly scheduled Board and committee meetings (normally one each per month), general meetings (approximately one each quarter), and the annual Board retreat.
