NENC BOARD POLICY POSITIONS AND PAPERS

The North End Neighborhood Coucil has taken a position on an number of issues which it deems important to North End Residents.  Please click on the link to read the lettter issued on each issue:

  
• 1) Opposed the expansion of Sperry Dock on the Foss Waterway.
  
  
• 2) Supported a study to revive Tacoma's street car system.
  

• 3) Opposed expansion of attached and detached accessory dwelling units in single family neighborhoods.

• 4) Issued a position on the Mixed Use Center update.

5) Supported the mandatory inclusion of a intracity streetcar provision in the next Sound Transit proposal.

Potential Safeway Store Expansion

• The Safeway store located in the Proctor Business District is proposing a substantial remodel. The documents below contain information and comments regarding their requested Variances and the remodel itself.

• The NENC has not heard the presentation from Safeway Corporation, but should the application progress, Safeway personnel have indicated that they will make a presentation to the NENC.
